One of OCshowbiz's newest projects in development is a documentary of a Personal Water Craft (PWC) Endurance Trip. This Endurance Run is the story of a team of PWC riders who will venture from Newport Beach, CA to Costa Rica. This is also a story about the pure spirit of the riders who will dozens of hours piloting these PWCs. Our adventurers will travel approximately 3,500 miles over a period of two weeks. We are looking at a January 2006 start and are investigating the possibility of earning a Guinness World Record. This will be an endurance test for both rider and PWC. Man and machine will be pushed to their limits in ways not unlike 24-hour auto rallies or the physically punishing Eco-challenges. The riders will face the challenges of exposure, fatigue, gale-force winds and other natural hurdles. This documentary will provide an opportunity to strengthen the ties between the US and our Central American neighbors. We plan to record the entire journey using a chartered deep sea fishing vessel that will be retrofitted for filming as well as PWC maintenance. We have already had discussions with a major Children’s charity about turning this journey into a fundraiser for them as well as an adventure. Our partner is Oceana Enterprises Inc., dba Newport Jetsports who will start the trip from their location on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach CA. Preliminary arrangements have been made with a chase/tender boat operator, hotel owner with an exciting landing site in Costa Rica and discussion of permiting needs. We are in the process of determining which PWC manufacturer we will partner with. Want a taste of our adventure? Visit Newport Jetsports and rent a PWC. Ask for Chad. Please check
back often as we will be adding more information soon about the principals
and riders. For more
