Montica Reeves |
One
of our own, Montica Reeves, recently appeared in a Gilbert
and Sullivan musical, The Yeomen of the Guard,
at the Chance Theater in Anaheim. Montica played the role
of Phoebe Meryll, the lead character.
It ran for several weeks in March and was a terrific show.
Montica is was fabulous and as was part of an excellent
cast. I couldn't believe how many great voices are in this
show!
The Yeomen of the Guard tells the
story of Colonel Fairfax during the last days of his imprisonment
in the Tower. He has been denounced as a sorcerer, and is
facing execution within the hour. Sergeant Meryll, a Yeoman
of the Guard, and his daughter Phoebe, both of whom wish to
save Fairfax, lead the audience through plot full of cunning
twists.
Montica is a talented actress and singer. A graduate of Orange
Coast College (AA, Theater Arts) and U.C. Irvine (BA, Drama),
she is a credentialed teacher and has a growing list of professional
credits. Among her credits: the role of Pippi with the national
tour of Pippi LongStocking, the national tour of
Babes in Toyland (Jill), Oklahoma (Ado Annie),
Red Scare on Sunset (Mary Dale), a featured role
on The Young and the Restless, and the lead in Could
It Be A Miracle, a KCAL-TV production, Oxygen Network's
Girls Behaving Badly, and numerous commercials.
