Major Contibutions Sought to Develop OCshowbiz

In order for OCshowbiz to create infrastructure to encourage the entertainment arts, it is important to obtain funding so that we can provide equipment and staff to this organization and to further develop our website. We have all sorts of features planned after that such as event calendars, chat rooms, services for casting and employment agencies, archiving articles and the like. We'll try to add these during the early part of the year. If you have talents in website design, PHP, MySQL and would like to volunteer to help us, please contact Art Kirsch at art@ocshowbiz.com

Call For Volunteers
We are 100% run and funded by volunteers. We need people to create and be in charge of the content of OCshowbiz.

Right now we have volunteer editors for the Comedy, Creative, Enthusiasts, Film/TV, Music, Performers, Photography, Technicians, Theater and Volunteers. Each of these pages will also need one or more additional volunteers so just let us know what your interests are. If you have an expertise or interest in a particular entertainment art, whether listed here or not, and would like to contribute to or manage a section, write us at art@OCshowbiz.com and let us know about your interests. If you can help us with a financial contribution, it would be greatly appreciated.

In order to make our information more accessible and meaningful to all in our community, especially those of Hispanic and Asian origin, we are desirous of attracting volunteers who are bi-lingual.

It is our hope to encourage periodic get-togethers for like-minded people such as film makers (writers, actors, etc) in part as a support group, but also with the thought that every 8-12 weeks or so we can create and shoot a short video or stage a one act play. This will not be for distribution, just to let people participate in all the facets of creating entertainment, get some practice at various crafts, and network with one another.

Membership, Privacy And Civility
Membership: We plan to offer a free membership that will allow you to post your resume or event information and generally have access to the site. Additional features can then be offered at a modest fee such as posting demo videos, a portfolio of headshots, accept advertising, etc. to help offset the cost of the site. We will not require name, address or telephone for basic membership, generally just an email address, screen-name, age and zip code. We will require members to be over 13 years old.

Privacy: We will operate as an Opt-In site. That means we won’t be selling access to our members.

Civility: We reserve the sole and absolute right to determine what will or will not be permitted to appear on our site. We respect that there is a wide range of artistic expression and don’t want to unduly prohibit postings on this site, but we’re not going to tolerate gratuitously crude or abusive language or imagery on our site.
